Preparing for the SAT-There are a variety of ways to ensure you are prepared for the SAT. Remember that most students take the SAT more than once. This allows for growth in between, with the right preparation!
The College Board offers test prep services free of charge when you register for the SAT through KHAN Academy.
You can also purchase prep books that help you study in addition to browsing the internet for free test prep materials. Performing well in your rigorous coursework is important too! Georgia Virtual School (GVS) is an online resource that offers a SAT Prep course for .5 credit. Your school schedule may allow you to build this course in to your daily schedule, but know that your grade will count toward your overall G.P.A. It is recommended that only self motivated, highly organized students participate in GVS courses. You may opt to take the course outside of your daily schedule, but the cost of the course will be the student's responsibility. Check out the availability at www.gavirtualschool.org. Please check with your School Counselor prior to registering for this course. LINK YOUR COLLEGE BOARD ACCOUNT WITH KHAN ACADEMY!!!

The SAT Prep Course is designed to help students navigate the SAT test. The 14-hour course covers each section of the SAT: Math, Critical Reading, & Writing and Language. The instructor breaks down each section and teaches the students how to recognize what each question is asking and how to choose the best answer. The majority of the course is spent taking practice tests and understanding the answers. By practicing, the student will increase his/her score and become faster at answering the questions. The course allows the students a designated time each week that they focus solely on the SAT. While taking this course will help the student improve their scores, the instructor encourages each student to spend time outside of class practicing to achieve maximum improvement. The cost of the course is $250.00 and that includes the study book that is used. The next SAT Prep Course will be for the May 4, 2019 test date. The course will begin on April 3, 2019. Classes will be held on Sundays & Wednesdays, leading up to the May test (4/3, 4/7, 4/10, 4/14, 4/24, 4/28, 5/1).
