Mrs. Holly McShane
Hello Raiders! I am SO excited work with you again! The Student Services Department is committed to ensuring you have what you need to be successful at HCHS. We want you to be college and career ready upon graduation!
I am entering into my third decade of being a School Counselor. I graduated with a Master's degree in School Counseling from Florida Atlantic University and keep current with School Counseling trends through professional associations such as Georgia School Counselor Association and the American School Counseling Association. I have three children and one granddaughter and enjoy photography, reading, boating, and anything outdoors. Now that you a little about me, I want to learn more about YOU!
Questions about schedules, graduation requirements, making good grades, career choices, healthy decision making, finding friends, dealing with adults, finding a club or job opportunities can be directed to your Counselor. We are here to help you with all of those questions and more.
Mrs. Holly McShane, Lead Counselor A-F & Success Academy
Mrs. Jalen Hulsey
I am a second year graduate student in the professional school counseling program at the glorious University of Georgia. I completed my undergraduate at UGA as well, receiving a bachelor of science degree with a major in psychology and a minor in human development and family sciences. In addition to my love for UGA, I also have a deep love for the Raider Nation as I attended Habersham Central High School. I am so excited to return as a school counselor for the school that provided me four amazing years of growth and education. I have always been a counselor at heart. I believe everyone has a story to tell, and everyone deserves to have someone who will listen to that story. It is my hope to always be that listening ear for the students whom I serve. Being a school counselor allows me to integrate my heart of counseling with my passion for education. As Nelson Mandela said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” It is my hope that through the services I provide to my students, all will be equipped with that weapon. Outside of the school building, I love my God, I love my family, and I love my leisures. Books and Netlix provide me entertainment indoors, while running, kayaking, and tennis are where you can find me when its sunny.
Mr. Donnie Bennett
My name is Donnie Bennett and I am proud to be a counselor here at Habersham Central High School. I will do academic counseling for students with last names beginning with N-Z.
I have been an educator for 21 years and a counselor for the last 14. During my career, I have been both a high school counselor and a middle school counselor. I have a firm understanding of where our students are and how to get them where they want to be. My personal and professional mission is to help all of our students be more successful than they ever dreamed possible.
Here at HCHS, I will provide individual counseling, small group activities, large group activities, and classroom guidance opportunities. I will also team up with community experts to help provide both student and parent learning opportunities. Look for information about these events on our sign, our web site, and local news outlets.
My office is at your service. If not an emergency, parents and students are encouraged to contact me to set up an appointment at least one day in advance to allow for planning. Call me at 706-778-7161 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
